JULY 16
Sew-A-Softie Day is an annual celebration of the age-old skill of sewing. Trixi Symonds encourages adults and children of all ages to turn off their computers, put down their smart phones and experience the joy and fulfilment of creating a unique object with their own hands. Sew-A-Softie day is not a single, official event – rather, an opportunity for friends, families, school and social groups to get together and enjoy the process of making something. Trixi asks for bloggers, sewers, magazines, parents and school groups to help promote the event through their networks by posting simple softie tutorials, running free softie making classes or by teaching family, friends or neighbours who have never sewn the simple joys of hand sewing through the creation of softies. Don’t forget to upload your details to the Sew-A-Softie Day Facebook page. For more information email Trixi at trixi@colouredbuttons.com
