EDITORIAL ASSISTANT Describe yourself in five words or less. Creative, loud, colourful, loving and strong. Describe your worst attempt at craft. To support my wonderful boyfriend I decided to make a shirt with his name and team logo on it. I printed everything onto T-shirt transfer paper and then ironed it on, but somewhere along the way I ignored the instructions to transfer it onto a white T-shirt. I used a dark green one and I couldn’t see the design at all. Next time I will complete the craft project before I talk it up. If you could master one new skill, what would it be? Refusing chocolate – if it’s there I just have to have it. What's your favourite project that's been featured in Handmade? All the scrumptious cupcakes in Vol 23 No 12. I love cupcakes! I couldn’t believe how real the fabric ones looked – almost good enough to eat.  Describe your greatest creative achievement.   There are many yet to come! I love making cards and scrapbooking so for Mother’s Day last year I made my mother a card that was also a mini album with photos of me over the years. It was the first album I completed and I put a lot of time into it. How is your home decorated? Bright with a mix of things I love. What is your favourite colour and why? Pink and green – they should always be seen. Tell us about your earliest childhood craft memories. My mother is very crafty, so I grew up with craft around me. I remember she had a wardrobe full of beautiful fabrics. I would sneak into her sewing room, open the closet and cut bits of the fabric off to make things in secret. She would get so angry when she went to use the fabric that I had cut an uneven piece from. Of course, it would never be me! What's the best handmade present you've ever received? Following in my footsteps and to impress me, my boyfriend made me a butterfly-shaped pink birthday card. He borrowed my stash for a week, used all the things I love and made me the best birthday card ever! Tell us an unusual or surprising fact about yourself. I have completed two full marathons (42kms) in my life and I am planning my third. What is your motto in life? Kylie says ‘relax’ - and so does Kristy. I need time-out continually to get through. Describe any ‘what was I thinking?’ purchases. Anything from the ’80s. What music do you listen to while you work? Kylie and Nova 96.9FM. Any amusing anecdotes? I love chocolate so much my mum caught me getting into the cooking chocolate as a child.
